Your Trusted Partner for a House Move in Greenwich
Planning a house move Greenwich residents can rely on takes careful organisation, the right team, and a removal company that truly understands the local area. Greenwich is one of London’s most vibrant and historically rich boroughs, and whether you’re relocating to a period terraced house near the park, a modern flat in Greenwich Peninsula, or a family home in Blackheath, every move comes with its own unique challenges. That’s why choosing a specialist in Greenwich removals makes all the difference from the very first box packed to the final piece of furniture placed.
SMS Man and Van is a professional, friendly, and fully experienced removals company serving Greenwich and the wider South East London area. Whether you’re moving across the street or across the city, we bring the same high standard of service to every job.
Why Greenwich Is a Great Place to Call Home
Greenwich attracts homeowners and renters alike, thanks to its outstanding green spaces, excellent transport links, and a strong sense of community. From the UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Old Royal Naval College to the bustling Greenwich Market and the iconic Cutty Sark, the area offers a quality of life that’s hard to beat in London. It’s no surprise that demand for property in the borough remains consistently high, meaning removal services in the area are always in demand.
Understanding the borough’s layout — including its mix of wide residential streets, narrower Victorian terraces, and busy town centre roads — is essential for any removal team working here. Our drivers and crew know Greenwich well, ensuring efficient routing and minimal delays on your moving day.

Practical Tips for Your House Move in Greenwich
- Book early: Greenwich is a popular area, and removal slots fill up quickly, particularly at weekends and at the end of the month when many tenancy agreements change over.
- Declutter before you pack: Moving is the perfect opportunity to sort through belongings. Donating or disposing of items you no longer need reduces the volume to move and can lower your overall costs.
- Label every box clearly: Mark boxes with their contents and destination room to speed up the unpacking process significantly.
- Check parking restrictions: Some Greenwich streets have residents’ parking or loading restrictions. Contact the council in advance to arrange a suspension if needed.
- Prepare an essentials bag: Keep a bag handy with items you’ll need on the first night — phone charger, toiletries, a change of clothes, and snacks — so you’re not digging through boxes immediately.
